Our dissertation defense service includes three options to ensure you have the right level of support for a successful defense:
With our first option, we create a PowerPoint deck designed for a half-hour presentation, or about ~25 slides.
- This presentation is designed as a guide to use during your dissertation defense, so that you are able to give a clear overview of the development and significance of your topic, as well as the specific problem and purpose you investigated in your research, supported by the key themes and findings identified in your literature review and analysis results.
- This support will also include key (research-supported) points to indicate why your methodology and specific research design offered the best approach to explore your specific research questions and/or hypotheses.
- This option will provide you with a compelling, well-structured overview of why your study is a critical addition to current research, as well as (for doctoral programs with a practitioner component) a much-needed extension of current applications or interventions.
With the second option, we provide you with the ~25 slides along with speaker notes to help you guide you through the defense.
- In these notes we include additional information from your study to help you remember all that you need to know to defend each specific slide successfully. In particular, the notes can help you to discuss key similarities and differences between leading theorists, and even within your own expectations for the study and your actual results.
- These speaker notes can also be printed and kept separate from the rest of the slides, so that you’re able to send a clean copy of your presentation to your committee.
Our final option provides you with our most comprehensive level of assistance for defense preparation. We provide you with a complete PowerPoint presentation, speaker notes, and a 1-hour coaching session to walk you through a mock defense.
- With this option, we step into the shoes of your committee and ask similar questions to what they will pose to you on the day of the defense. For example, we can make sure that you’re fully prepared to discuss any key limitations or surprising results from the data collection and analysis process, and highlight the best avenues for future research based on your findings.
- Once the mock defense is done, we will provide you with feedback and pointers on how the defense can be improved, so that you’re comfortable discussing not only the foundational elements of your study and its results, but also the full context of your study’s contribution to current research in your field.
